A group of faculty researchers from the Aurora State College of Technology – ASCOT engaged in a Complementation Workshop for the Collaborative Research for Development Project in collaboration with the DA-Livestock Biotechnology Center (DA-LBC) and DA-Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC) last May 14-15, 2025, at the DA-PCC National Headquarters and Gene Pool in Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.
This two-day event aims to equip participants with the skills to create effective and timely research proposals that secure funding support from the DA-Biotech Program Office (DA-BPO) and other funding agencies.
On the first day, Dr. Marvin A. Villanueva, Center Chief of the DA-LBC, and his team provided an overview of the Research and Development (R&D) initiatives at DA-PCC, highlighting the agency’s key research priorities, particularly in biotechnology. They also introduced proposal templates to help participants craft strong and relevant research proposals.
The following day, ASCOT faculty researchers toured the National Livestock Cryobank, the DNA Sequencing Facility, and the PCC Gene Pool.
The faculty researchers from ASCOT successfully created a research proposal, which is expected to be refined for potential funding support, concluding the activity.
