About Us
The Department of Agriculture – Administrative Order (DA-AO) # 21 series of 2005, established the Agricultural Biotechnology Center.
In order to meet the requirements of a modernized livestock agricultural sector, the DA-AO # 9 series of 2008 identified the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) as the lead agency in ruminant biotechnology research.
PCC as one of the leading livestock biotechnology research agency in the Philippines was chosen to host the DA-Livestock Biotechnology Center when it was operationalized on August 06, 2014.
The DA – Livestock Biotechnology Center serves as a catalyst of the Department of Agriculture in the development and utilization of modern biotechnologies for livestock commodities. The center shall rationalize and implement the Research for Development (R4D) Agenda of the Biotech Program of the Department. They shall also provide biotechnology capacity building services to a network of R4D institutions in the utilization of modern biotechnologies
