Our Story

How We Got Started

The Livestock Biotechnology Center (LBC) was established in 2014 under the Department of Agriculture, hosted by the Philippine Carabao Center, to lead livestock biotechnology research and development. Its mandate was further strengthened by Administrative Order No. 26, series of 2021, aligning its functions with the DA’s R4D and innovation agenda. Since its inception, LBC has supported project proposals and initiatives that advance livestock biotechnology in line with national agricultural priorities.

Where We Are Now

The Livestock Biotechnology Center is actively implementing research projects, building partnerships, and promoting biotechnology innovations to improve livestock production. We continue to support the DA’s goals through science-based solutions and capacity-building efforts across the livestock sector.
